FAST's interactive e-learning
Why e-learning?
E-learning is a different way to learn and has many advantages:
- No computer experience or technical skill required - FAST courses are user-friendly, easy-to-use, short and an enjoyable way to learn topics
- Users, have total control over when, where, at what time and for how long they spend over a course
- The courses are bookmarked, so users can break-off whenever they want
- Multi-media presentation of the course content and the course exercises means that the courses use audio, photographs and images, moving diagrams, interactivity and other techniques to make the learning a varied, interesting, illustrative, involving and fulfilling experience
- Suitable for use as a refresher on the topic or for in-depth study - as users can take the time that they need, there is no limit on the time that they can spend on completing the course
- Self-Assessment Questions at the end of each of the six modules
- A Certificate is awarded that can be added to their training portfolio and is proof-positive of their study and can be used for Annual Appraisal or Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
- Because the course content is designed by those with chalk-face experience, users' understanding and knowledge is improved and so contribute to better patient and service-user care
- During the Licence period users can revisit the e-learning course whenever they want and so have an information resource which is always to hand
- Educational research shows that those undertaking e-learning such as with FAST's course have an ability to retain information more effectively than through traditional face-to-face seminars
